Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kats warned today (01/05/2025) that the Israel will respond with military force if the government in Syria does not protect the drums.
«If the attacks on the Drussians continue and the regime in Syria fails to prevent them, Israel will respond with significant power“, Kats said in a statement from his ministry.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar called the international community earlier today “To protect minorities in Syria – especially the Drouzes – from the regime and its terrorist gangs”.
The Israeli army announced yesterday that it had removed three Drouz citizens from Syria to provide medical care in Israel.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Israeli army had a warning blow against “extremists” preparing to attack Droussian minority members in the Syrian city of Sachaya.
Also, the head of the Israeli Armed Forces General Staff, Eyal Zamir ordered the army to be ready to hit government targets in Syria, if new violence against the Drouz community in that country occur.
