Ismail Kani, Commander of the Kunds Force to the Guards of the Islamic Revolution, was killed during his raid Israel to Iranaccording to a report by the New York Times on Friday (13.06.2025).
Ismail Kani succeeded Cassem Soleimani as commander of the Kunds force after his last death in a targeted United States operation in 2020 and was responsible for Iran’s representatives.
In particular, in January 2020, Iran’s leader Ali Khamenei appointed Kani as commander of the Kundz force after the death of General Cassem Suleimani from a targeted American raid with an unmanned aircraft near Baghdad international airport. Hameni described him as “one of the most prominent military commanders during the sacred defense”.
As the Commander of the QODS force, Qaani was partly responsible for the supervision of the funding and businesses of the Iranian Islamic Republic, including Hamas, Hezbollah and Ansar Allah (of Houthi).
