The Iran announced today, November 11, that it had dismantled an “espionage network” set up by Israeli and US intelligence several months after the war with Israel.
“The network (…) under the direction of the US and Israeli intelligence services has been identified and dismantled,” said a statement from the Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s ideological army, broadcast on state television.
“The operation was carried out in a coordinated manner in several provinces,” he added, without giving any details on when and where the operations took place, nor on the number of arrests.
In June, Israel launched strikes on Iran, killing hundreds of people, including military officials and nuclear scientists.
Tehran responded by firing missiles and drones, killing 25 people.
The US, a close ally of Israel, also carried out strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The ceasefire between Iran and Israel came into effect on 24 June.
In recent months, Iranian authorities have announced numerous arrests for espionage and the execution of many people found guilty of collaborating with the Mossad.
