Increased traffic appears on some main roads in Attica on Tuesday afternoon (28/10), despite the generally smooth picture on most of the road network. The return of the excursions from the three-day trip seems to burden individual parts of the capital, creating delays and congestion on central arteries.
Traffic and delays on Attiki Odos and Kifisias
The most serious traffic problem is located on Kifissias Avenue, in the direction of Athens, especially from the height of Kifissia to Nea Filadelfia, where the flow of vehicles occurs at particularly low speeds.
At the same time, moderate to increased traffic is recorded in parts of the Attica Road and the Athens-Lamia National Road (E75), mainly in the northern part, where delays are observed at the exit to Kifissias and in the area of Metamorfosi.

On the contrary, traffic is running smoothly on most central avenues of Athens, such as Syngrou Avenue, Mesogeion, as well as in the city center, where no particular problems are observed.
Kifissou Avenue also remains free, both towards Lamia and towards Piraeus, while traffic on the Katehaki – Attiki Odos – Airport axis is moving without significant difficulties, with the exception of a small section before Athens International Airport, where there are mild delays.
Traffic recommendations to drivers
The Attica Traffic Authority advises drivers to exercise patience and caution, especially at the points with increased traffic, and to use alternative routes where possible, in order to avoid unnecessary delays.
