According to available data, in 2019 977.3 thousand statements were made and 3,771.9 thousand days of lease were made. In 2020 compared to 2019, the filing and leasing days decreased 59% and 53.7% respectively. From 2021 there is a gradual recovery until 2024, when the number of statements is 2,313.8 thousand and the leasing days of 8,193.0 thousand. An increase of 20.6% and 14.4%, respectively compared to 2023.
In particular, in 2024 compared to 2023, the leasing days increase 9.4% from the natives and 15.4% by foreigners. The average number of days of lease per declaration for 2024 amounts to 3.5 against 3.7 in 2023.
The monthly distribution of 2024 data shows that 60.8% of the leasing days are concentrated in June to October, with the largest increase in August, with 18.8% of the leasing days.
Of the region data, based on the number of records in the short -term lease register, a higher concentration of these accommodation is observed in the Regions of Attica, South Aegean, Crete and Central Macedonia. At the excellent prices of the leasing days, a greater increase in 2024 compared to 2023, the Regions of Attica (14.4%), Central Macedonia (19.5%) and Crete (9.3%). The highest contribution to all leasing days in 2024 is observed by the Attica regions (36%), Central Macedonia (13.8%) and Crete (12.1%).
The largest share of the leasing days held in short -term leasing accommodation in 2024, is accountable to foreigners and is 84.2% of the days.
