The Secretary -General of NATO Mark Rutte announced today, Tuesday (19/8/2025) that the Turkey It is the one that will host the next summit of the Alliance on July 7-8, 2026, in Ankara.
The NATO Summit will be hosted at the Ankara presidential complex in Turkey.
In his announcement, Rutte thanked Turkey for the hospitality of this “important session” and also noted that “at our next meeting, leaders will continue to build a stronger and fairer alliance” that would be ready to “meet our critical challenges”.
It is recalled that this year’s Summit was hosted in June in The Hague, the Netherlands, and the NATO member states pledged to increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP by 2035.
Turkey had hosted the NATO summit in 2004 in Istanbul.
