In the championship of the Third National, he will officially play Panionios.
The Neosmirniotes issued an announcement, informing that they will participate in the Third National in the new season. Recently, a great effort was made for Panionios to play in Superleague 2, however the Steering Committee could not cope with the requirements of the category.
The announcement of Panionios in detail:
From the 13th of August, when Panionios G.S. officially received the invitation to participate in the professional category of Super League 2, for 30 days the steering committee and the members of the management of the Association tried in every way to take advantage of the admittedly little time they had at their disposal, in order to “run” the procedures for the creation of PAE, to come to an agreement with interested investors, to take care of the preservation of the prestige and values of the Association against “predators” who considered that they would find suitable ground to take over Panionios and, at the same time, to prepare alternative plans in the very probable case that the deep desire of all of us, to see the Historian in the professional categories again, could not succeed.
Following the departure of the investor concerned last week, it was decided to make one last attempt to mobilize the necessary financial forces to support the creation of the new PAE.
Based on this reasoning, in addition to contacts with several new interested investors but also “older” companions of the Historian, a public call was made for Panionia Coalition to well-known friends and supporters in order to assist. Unfortunately, the circumstances and the pressing deadlines (the guarantee and Share Capital had to be deposited on the 16th of the month and at the same time the deadline for registering for the Third National expired) resulted in the response being very small and the margins now turning into nothing.
It was decided, therefore, for the team to declare its participation in the championship of the Third National Division. This decision was made with two conditions:
First of all, the return of Panionios to the professional categories will of course remain a one-way street and the ultimate goal and desire of all. It should be implemented, however, not under the regime of suffocating pressure which can lead to wrong decisions and weakness.
