In a direct response the Harvard University to the US president, Donald Trumpwhich in the context of the “war” that has opened with the Higher Education Institution has withdrawn its ability to accept foreign students for the academic year 2025 – 2026.
Harvard University filed today, Friday (23.05.25) a lawsuit in a Boston federal court against Donald Trump’s government following the US president’s decision to put ‘Bloc’ to foreign students, demanding the revocation of the decision, according to Reuters.
In a lawsuit Harvard characterized the recall as ‘Blatant violation’ of the US Constitution and other federal laws, noting that it has “immediate and destructive impact” on the university and on more than 7,000 visa holders.
“This is the last act of the government in the context of clear retaliation for Harvard that exercised the rights of the first amendment to reject the government’s demands to control Harvard’s administration, the curriculum and the” ideology “of its teachers and students.”
Harvard calls on a judge to immediately block the order of Interior Security Minister Christie Noem.
It is noted that yesterday, the Trump government “punished” Harvard, blocking its ability to enroll foreign students.
“Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students and existing foreign students must be transferred or lose their legal status,” the US Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.
Interior Security Minister Christie Noem said he ordered the competent service to lift Harvard’s SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program) certification, citing the university’s refusal to deliver the behavior of foreign students’ behaviors.
