Six months will eventually take to reopen the second terminal liquefied gas (LNG) of our country, located in the marine area of Alexandroupolis.
As is well known, this particular naturalized gas (LNG) floating unit (LNG) started last autumn, but at the end of January it was shut down due to a technical problem.
Administrator Gastrade announced that it initially caused damage to the Booster Pumps of the FSRu Pumps (FSRU). At the same time, it is clarified that it has already taken all necessary steps to restore the problem and repair pumps.
Now, after the new postponement, the terminal is projected to reopen on August 15 with a 25%limited capacity. The goal is to reach full pace until October 1st, when the winter season and the new year of gas begins, based on the timetable maintained by the administrators.
It is worth adding that the importance of LNG Alexandroupolis is high, not only for Greece, but also for the wider region of SE Europe. It is the first link of the vertical axis to supply gas to countries such as Bulgaria, and the future aims to even reach Ukraine.
In yet another development, the DESFA Terminal in Revithousa has now completed its scheduled seasonal maintenance and returns to operation. The program shows that in June four LNG loads will arrive in Revithousa, with a total volume of 390,250 cubic meters. These are three loads of Metlen and one of DEPA.
At the same time, DESFA installed a new high -pressure compressor on the terminal, thereby upgrading the unit, according to LNG Prime.
Finally, market sources told Montel that increased LNG volumes through Greek terminals are going to smooth pressure on the natural market, which has experienced increased variability in recent months.
