At the 3rd UN Conference on Oceans in Nice, France, the Prime Minister is present Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis will take place tonight at the dinner of the leaders who will be cited by French President Emmanuel Macron.
In Nice the prime minister will describe Greece’s new priorities in relation to the seas and the oceans.
It will emphasize the importance our country attaches to the protection of oceans and seas and the important measures it has taken and will stress that Greece is speeding up to sustainable and responsible management of its maritime resources.
In April 2024, Athens organized the 9th Oceans Conference, and between the commitments our country has made is the creation of two national marine parks in the Ionian and the Aegean to increase the magnitude of its marine protected areas to 30% of its territorial waters.
The prime minister is also expected to raise the issue of maritime security, which is one of Greece’s goals as an elected member of the UN Security Council.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend the meeting organized by Emmanuel Macron on cooperation and investment in interconnection projects in the Mediterranean.
