In Copenhagen Kyriakos Pierrakakis for Eurogroup and Ecofin meetings

To Copenhagen today (18.9.2025) the Minister of Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakisto participate in the meetings of the informal councils of Eurogroup and Ecofin.

On Saturday, September 20, Kyriakos Pierrakakis will direct a debate by the Ministers of Finance on innovation and digitization, which will focus on the necessary structural reforms to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the European economy.

Earlier, at the Eurogroup, ministers will consider the next steps to adopt digital euro. They will discuss recent economic developments, exchange views with the European Parliament’s ECON Committee Chairman, and will plan the Eurogroup’s work by June 2026.

On the same day, at Ecofin’s working lunch on the complexity of European legislation, ministers will look for ways to make regulations more efficient and less expensive for businesses and public finances.

Subsequently, in collaboration with Central Banks, they will discuss the simplification of the European Financial Framework and examine the conclusions of the Think Tank Bruegel study on geopolitical developments and their economic impact on Europe.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Mr. Pierrakakis will visit the United Nations offices and the UNICEF International Supply Chain Center in Copenhagen, while holding bilateral meetings with European officials and counterparts.
