The Boston of the United States was visited today by the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias.
As it was announced, Mr. Dendias met in Boston with academics and scientists active in the field of innovative dual use products, with whom he discussed, inter alia, the Greek defense innovation ecosystem in the context of the “Agenda 2030” and the future of the use of artificial intelligence. He also went to the MIT Lab “Lincoln Laborator” laboratory within the “Hanscom” air base, where he attended presentations and was informed about how the laboratory operated, which is mainly funded by the US Department of Defense, to create new products and find innovative solutions to the country.
Mr. Dendias also participated in a discussion in MIT “Lincoln Laboratory” on “Greek Defense Innovation”.
During the debate he informed his interlocutors about the latest developments on the development of the Greek ecosystem and the operation of the Hellenic Defense Innovation Center (ELKAK) while exchanging views on issues related to innovative defense and security systems.
During his visit to the MIT “Lincoln Laboratory”, Mr. Dendias attended a specific information from the director of Dr. Melissa Goodhard Choy for the operation and activities of the Interdisciplinary Research and Development Center (FFRDC), which is funded by the US Federal Government and run by MIT for the US Department of Defense.
The Minister of National Defense also attended updates on the developments of scientific research on the NATO program “NCIS” (Next-Generation Incident Command System) by the lead researcher at MIT Lincoln Laboratory Kayel Tilak Clapul and the implementation The collection of radar arrays in alliance countries by Greg Hogan.
Also, the engineer and analyst of MIT Lincoln Laboratory Alica Liem presented NATO’s integrated security architectures, while the senior executive of the Francesca d’A laboratory presented “Radsil” (Ramstein Air Defense System Integration Laboratory).
