OR AEK announced the acquisition of Vassilis Charalampopouloswith the international forward signing a one -year contract with Dragan Sakota’s team.
After a long absence due to injury, Vassilis Charalampopoulos is now ready to return to the parquet and will do so with the AEK jersey for the new season, in Greece and Europe.

The international forward signed a contract today (12/08) until the end of the 2025-2026 season.

Vassilis Charalampopoulos was born on January 6, 1997 in Athens and began his professional career at PAO, with whom he won four championships (2013, 2014, 2017, 2018) and four Greek Cups (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).
In the 2017-2018 season he competed as a loan to PAOK, while in the summer of 2018 he was transferred to Lavrio and had an average of 7.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 12 appearances in the Greek league.
In the summer of 2019 he signed to the UCPP, while in the 2020-2021 season he moved to Italy on behalf of Fortu Bologna. During the period 2023-2024 he competed in Spanish Obdoiro, recording 5.4 points and 3.1 rebounds on average in Spanish Liga Endesa.
The beginning of the 2023-2024 season found Vassilis Charalampopoulos in Italy on behalf of Dynamo Sassari, where he scored 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists on average, and later played the Spanish Obdoiro and 5.4 points.
In the summer of 2024 it was announced by Turkish Telekom, but on October 2, in a Eurocup match against Mars he was injured and was out of action for 7-8 months.
At the level of national groups, Charalampopoulos was a protagonist in all “young” age categories. He won the Gold Medal at the European Championships in 2013 with the National Children’s National Championship. In 2015 he was a member of the team that won the gold medal in the European K18, where he was named MVP of the event. In 2017, with National Youth, he again won gold at the K20 European Championships and was again MVP.
