In ADMIE Alert – DEDDIE: Cut Photovoltaics on Sunday to protect the network

Announcement that heralds possible complete restriction of production to photovoltaic Over 400 kW connected to the distribution network was issued by ADMIE for Sunday, April 6th.

As the production of RES (including photovoltaics) is at historically high levels in our country, there is a question with the stability of the system in low demand days, such as Sundays. That is why ADMIE and HEDNO are rushing to take appropriate steps to avoid power outages. So they want to be able to cut as many RES as possible during the hours necessary.

According to decisions taken, RES producers with projects of more than 400 kW on the DEDDIE network are divided into two groups: Group A includes projects that have a remote control system and so they can automatically accept the production order by the manager. On the contrary, in the case of Group B, the cut is done after sending a message to the producer, who must then stop the operation of his work.

It should be noted that if the producers do not apply the order, then they are facing a fine of 500 euros for each megawattarter, which is increased to 1,000 and then to EUR 1,500, if they are considered to be subjugated.

Specifically this Sunday, the measure will apply from 11am to 4pm. ADMIE and DEDDIE consider this day as a rehearsal for Easter, when demand falls even lower and the situation becomes even more difficult on the network.

This is a problem that will continue to concern our country in the near future until adequate energy storage units are constructed. The first projects of this kind are expected to be implemented already this year, but the pace of the facilities will eventually judge the result.
