OR oil company of Hungary, mol will increase deliveries to Serbia Following US sanctions against the Serbian oil industry NIS, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Sigado announced today (10.10.2025).
“As Mol plays an important role in the supply of Serbia with slow oil and fuel … Our Serbian friends can rely on increased supplies from our oil company,” Sigiarto said, adding that this increase will not be able to fully replenish it.
US sanctions against the Serbian oil industry NIS They began to apply since Thursday (9.10.2025). They were imposed because of the company’s ownership status. The majority package of NIS shares belong to Russian companies, with the largest Gazprom Neft, which is considered a funder of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions against NIS were decided in January 2025 and postponed eight times with the expectation that the Serbian State will impose changes in the company’s ownership. But all the efforts made by the Serbian President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic did not bear fruit, as the Russians refuse to leave Nis.
NIS’s share in the fuel market – benzine and diesel – in Serbia reaches 80%.
