At a time when environmental challenges are constantly increasing, the need for immediate and effective actions is more crucial than ever. Disasters from fires in Attica highlight the criticality of the restoration of burnt forest land. In this context, Helleniq Energy has taken on a decisive role, implementing initiatives that boost its commitment to protect the environment and regenerate the affected areas.
On March 21, Helleniq Energy’s CEO, Andreas Siamamis, was awarded by the Ministry of Environment and Energy for the company’s contribution to the restoration and reforestation of burnt forests in Attica and Corinth. This recognition highlights Helleniq Energy’s devotion to the restoration of affected areas and protecting neighboring communities from flooding, demonstrating the consistent and immediate response of the company to real needs.
Mr Siamisis said: “The obligation of all of us is to help prevent and deal with destructive natural phenomena that affect our country. However, our help is needed to manage and, where possible, restoring the natural environment when natural disasters occur. As a company we are always at the forefront to offer our help to our authorities and fellow citizens. In close cooperation with the Ministry, the Services and the competent bodies, we have implemented a series of anti -corrosion projects in recent years to rehabilitate more than 6 million acres of burnt forest land, at speed, to reduce the secondary impact and help the natural regeneration. At the same time, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy, we will continue our reforestation projects in the area of Old Penteli. It is an offer to society, in the context of corporate responsibility that characterizes Helleniq Energy over time. “

Rehabilitation of 32,000+ acres of burnt forest land in Attica and Corinthia
In 2022, Helleniq Energy has developed integrated burned forest restoration programs, focusing on areas affected by fires and covering more than 32,000 acres. In March 2025, anti -corrosion works in East Attica were completed in areas of the Municipalities of Dionysus and Marathon. Projects were preceded in 2022 in Varimbi and Schinos Corinth, and in 2024, similar interventions were completed in West Attica, in areas of the municipalities of Aspropyrgos, Elefsina and Mandra-Ipyllia.
Rehabilitation includes projects such as the placement of trumps, sorts and branches. These actions contribute to the fight against territorial erosion, the restraint of loading materials and the acceleration of natural regeneration. Helleniq Energy mainly utilizes materials from burnt trees for the construction of these projects, ensuring the ecological viability of its actions.
In addition, the company carried out artificial reforestation projects at the Karakanda water source in Penteli in 2023, in an area of 170 acres. In collaboration with the Directorate -General for Forests and Forests of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, new reforestation is planned in Penteli in October 2025.

Significant contribution of Helleniq Energy to Fire Prevention: Surveillance with Drones flights
In 2024, Helleniq Energy undertook the cost of leasing unmanned aircraft (drones) and the operation of the operational centers of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection in Attica and Central Macedonia. Through this program, the surrender of the suburban forest areas was strengthened and the coordination of the ground forces, as well as the evaluation of damage, was facilitated.
Helleniq Energy’s contribution to Fire Brigade forces and other departments of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection is crucial to the effectiveness of the state mechanism. In 2024, the company provided equipment and support to the ministry, undertaking the cost of operating the Civil Protection Services in Attica and Central Macedonia.
Helleniq Energy proves that the commitment to protect the environment and supporting local communities are fundamental values that guide its actions and promote a more viable future.
