In setting a specific remuneration for the Drugs High Cost (PSC) drove, according to their pharmacistthe long negotiation between the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association (PFS), the Ministry of Health and EOPYY.
The new process of disposing of high -cost drugs from private pharmacies, however, as the Minister of Health has clarified, Adonis Georgiadis, will in no way burden the insured. The fund for the remuneration of pharmacists will be disbursed by EOPYY.
The President of the PFS, Apostle Valta, He stressed by talking to iatropedia.gr That the process, in the first stage, will concern about 65,000 recipes for a monthly sea, corresponding to 1/3 of the total prescriptions performed in EOPYY pharmacies.
“The compensation of pharmacists for this service, as agreed with the Ministry of Health, is set at 20 euros plus VAT per prescription and not by medicine,” he says.
The selection of PEKs available from private pharmacies will become a therapeutic basis, enabling patients to choose their neighborhood pharmacy to receive their treatment, without having to visit EOPYY pharmacies.
According to Mr Valta, this arrangement is expected to reduce workload in the body’s pharmacies, while facilitating patients and their families, freeing them from unnecessary travel, transportation and labor losses.
Georgiadis: “We will not pass the expenditure to citizens”
In addition, as Mr Georgiadis points out, the disposal of drugs by private pharmacies ensures information and consulting support by the pharmacist, in particular on issues related to possible side effects of drugs.
“We do not want to pass the expenditure to citizens,” said Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, regarding the remuneration of pharmacists for the trafficking of high cost drugs (PEK).
“Not all EOPYY medicines can be put into neighborhood pharmacies, some will come in, because some are very expensive and others need special conservation conditions. I do not underestimate pharmacists and I would like to be able to go to all medicines to private pharmacies. But this has some difficulties, especially on the part of the industry, that does not trust parallel exports. And it has a great financial difficulty. Who will pay the cost? Because you do not forget that the drugs from the EOPYY pharmacy are with zero participation, while the drugs from the private pharmacy have the profit of the pharmacist. This, of course, do not want to pass it on to the world, so here is a cost that EOPYY must cover. This on an annual basis is a few million, it’s not so simple, “he said specifically, speaking to ERT.
In the meantime, EOPYY pharmacies will also be strengthened with staff in order to reduce the suffering of citizens. As the Minister of Health pointed out, the immediate intake of 45 pharmacists (20 with a block and 25 auxiliary through the special platform) is expected.
At the same time in early April, the distribution of drugs at home will begin, “if there is no objection to the competition”, as he specifically.
