From 2022 until today, Helleniq Energy has implemented a series of actions that included studies and the implementation of anti -corrosion and flood protection projects in forests destroyed by large fires. Specifically, critical interventions have been in the municipalities of Aspropyrgos, Elefsina and Mandra – Idyllia in West Attica, Varimbi Attica, Schino, Corinth, as well as in Rapenta Marathon, where the works were completed in March 2025.
These are projects of particular environmental importance, as they contribute to the immediate treatment of soil erosion, with the restraint of flexible materials, to accelerate the natural regeneration by maintaining seeds and temporarily struck as much as possible, to protect the nearby settlements.
The anti -corrosion works delivered by Helleniq Energy are ecological, with construction materials almost exclusively from the burnt trees in each area.
At the same time, Helleniq Energy, following a reforestation at the Karakanda Water source in Penteli, on an area of ​​170 acres and in consultation with the Directorate -General for Forests and Forests of the RIS and the Attica Reforetic Directorate, will proceed with new reforestations.
It should be noted that Helleniq Energy has been next to the state with the aim of preventing and dealing with fires. It supports firefighters, volunteer forestry and ministries. During the catastrophic fires of recent years, the group participated in extinguishing efforts, offering special equipment, while volunteer workers with tankers supplied the Fire Brigade. At the same time, through the EKO subsidiary, there has been a continuous refueling of the air and on earth.
In addition, in 2024, Helleniq Energy undertook the cost of leasing unmanned aircraft (drones), as well as the cost of operating the operational centers of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection in Attica and Central Macedonia. Through this program, surrounding suburban forest areas to provide information was enhanced, facilitated the coordination of ground forces, mapping and evaluating damage, while other operational needs of the Fire Brigade and the relevant Ministry were also met.
