Hatzidakis: We are racing road to pay the farmers, satisfying the conditions of the Commission

The Government’s Road to Completion and the Start of Payment of Subsidies in farmersbased on the conditions set by the European Commission (ed. Commission) in our country, the Vice President of the Government Kostis Hatzidakis presented in an interview today (30.9.2025) to ANT1.

“There is a race, we have enough issues to face but we are on the problem. It is something I coordinate as Vice -President of the Government along with the Ministry of Rural Development, especially the Minister, Costas Tsiaras and there is an agreed action plan that has over fifty different points. We call on farmers to understand the particularity of the case. Because if we do some failure, the country will have an issue and especially the same. I’m sure our farmers understand it. “

The deputy prime minister pointed out, addressing the farmers: “There is pressure to make payments, I understand. There is no one in government, or anyone else who would not want to be paid. But some rules we know should be respected, because the Commission has spoken publicly, and has also sent a letter to the Greek government on August 4. The letter says that if things are not done correctly, especially in the IACS, the central register for payments, there may be partial suspension of subsidies. Obviously no one would want that. There are two views from which we need to keep distances. One view is that everything will go ahead as it has been in the last decades without the committee. This would be a frivolous view after those that have been mediated. At the other end, it is the view that an Armageddon is coming, the farmers will be left without any subsidies, etc. “

Kostis Hatzidakis continued by saying that “AADE’s controls will be carried out on farmers’ statements on the basis of the conditions set by the European Commission to make sure that farmers are indeed owners of their land, that farmers have animals. And then the timetables will be announced when there is certainty and the cross -checks have proceeded. “

Kostis Hatzidakis also noted that:

1. Payments have been prioritized and payments will begin within 10-15 days from today, after the checks have been completed. “I am referring to the compensation for Daniel, especially for the fertile materials, the feed subsidies, the blessing that has been a concern for us in recent months. And it is also the last dose, 30% for organic farming beekeeping and livestock farming, as the so -called cross -checks are previously done. In order not to come Brussels to tell us “you have given the money, bring them back” or new fines are imposed, “the deputy prime minister said.

2. Here are the annual subsidies for which according to the information provided by Mr. Hatzidakis:

  • Over 600,000 farmers have already been submitted. A few more days ago there were more than 40,000 statements about to be finalized.
  • Of the statements made, 7% had the issue with the so -called ATAK, that is, the certificate of property. They will be sent a personal alert by HRAD in the coming days that the information on the ATAK should be corrected, because it is an essential issue.
  • In another 4% of farmers, especially in Northern Greece (Serres, Drama, in the region of Thessaloniki, etc.) there is another special issue in relation to assets. After contacts with the Commission, today a circular will be issued by OPECEPE and a relevant announcement.

Asked about the OPECEPE Inquiry Committee and the Witnesses called there, Mr. Hadjidakis said: “First of all there is a convergence of 70% between the government and the opposition to the witnesses they had to be called. They are already submitting substantial witnesses who are the OPEKEPE presidents, they will file ministers and then it has been agreed that a reassessment of the situation will be re -evaluated. Depending on the evidence that will exist or have emerged, more witnesses will be called. Will be appreciated at that time. The House decides. I don’t decide. But the agreement is a given and no one is in a hurry to draw premature conclusions. “
