Hatzidakis: The amendment for the Unknown Soldier does not affect the right of assembly – The nail for Konstantopoulos after a question about Tsipras

The deputy prime minister accused the opposition parties of “deep hypocrisy”, Kostis Hatzidakison the occasion of the amendment for Unknown Soldier stressing that “the right of assembly is not affected”.

“I see that the opposition parties have sensitivity for Tempi, and rightly so, and not the same for the dead in Mati and Mandra. This is profound hypocrisy that shows that they are trying to exploit the tragedy of Tempe without showing any respect to a monument that unites us all,” he initially told SKAI.

On occasion the objection of unconstitutionality to the amendmentMr. Hatzidakis declared “surprised” as, as he said, “the right of assembly is not affected, it is all of Athens and Syntagma Square, while we are only talking about the monument to the Unknown Soldier. We want to give respect to something that unites us”. He also responded to “why now” by saying “the hunger strike is over and the October 28 parade is approaching and the monument must have the role it has been assigned”

The deputy prime minister also referred to the payment of subsidies to the farmers explaining that “on the one hand there is pressure from farmers for payment and on the other hand pressure from Brussels with two letters that say if you pay without our agreement we will suspend payments”.

After reminding that “we have already started paying” he then noted that “150 million have already been given since the beginning of September and by the end of the month three more payments will have been made. We care that payments are made as quickly as possible.”

The interview ended with a “nail” with the recipient Zoe Konstantopoulou and her departure on a live broadcast of SKAIwith Kostis Hatzidakis when asked about Alexis Tsipras answering “don’t ask me about Alexis Tsipras, because I will leave! Because here you have a tradition at the station, we have to respect it. When a journalist asks, the interlocutor leaves”
