With the situation remaining unregulated at Syriathe Greek diplomatic authorities are monitoring the developments minute by minute and are in close contact with them Greeks who live in this country.
As reported by Ertnews, there are currently no requests from citizens of Greek origin to leave Syria. Most of the phone calls made were informational and our embassy is operating normally. The same applies to Aleppo.
Greek diplomatic authorities remain alert and contingency plans have been drawn up, should the situation deteriorate further.
On Saturday (07/12/24), the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking into account the security situation in Syria, reminds Greek citizens to avoid any visit to this country. At the same time, it is recommended to Greek citizens, who are already there, to avoid unnecessary movements and to observe the maximum possible security measures”.
