A place in the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Cooperation of the Black Sea (OSEP) was secured by Greece at 65or Plenary held in Baku of Azerbaijan.
OR WisdomMP ND B3 of South Athens, head of the Greek delegation and member of the permanent committee of the Assembly, was elected Vice -President of this important parliamentary institution that plays an important role, especially in the present conditions of excellent geopolitical instability and the need to enhance regional cooperation.
It is worth noting that at the OSEP Parliamentary Assembly participate in addition to Greeceparliamentary delegations from Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia and Turkey, while Russia’s participation remains “frozen”.
Mrs Voultepsi’s proposal was signed by Turkey, Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia and voted in favor of all countries, with the Bureau being completed by the candidate MPs from Ukraine and Northern Macedonia. In practice, Greece’s long -standing work has proved to be in the context of the Organization, as a country seeking peaceful coexistence and resolving disputes through the diplomatic path.
At the same time, Sofia Voultepsi was honored by the Speaker of the House of Azerbaijan Mr. Sabiha Gafarova and the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly (PABSEC) Mr. Asaf Hatziev, for her work (during her term in the Ministry of Migration). Afghanistan, but also for its struggle to combat people trafficking, children’s education and preventing crime and radicalization.
The Greek delegation was also involved with key interventions on important issues of common interest by Arta and Thesprotia MPs George Stylios and Vassilis Yogiakas from the New Democracy and Kozani MP Kalliopi Veta from SYRIZA.
