Goran Ivanisevic talked about his short term as his coach Stefanou Tsitsipanoting the problems of the leading Greek tennis player in an attempt to return to the highest level.
Speaking on the Croatian HRT channel, Goran Ivanisevic stressed that the “divorce” with Stefanos Tsitsipas was without misunderstandings, stressing that the “harsh” criticism he made against himdid not play a role in the solution of their cooperation.

“We talked yesterday, without any misunderstanding, we thanked each other. He decided to try again with his father and honestly believe that the only one who can train him is his father. He has played his best tennis with him, he knows him better than everyone.
I told him yesterday. Nothing will change unless he clarifies some things in his mind. If you are not mentally, physically and emotionally ready, especially mentally, to play hours with the best, then you have no luck to stand at the top level.
He grew up too much … I didn’t offend him. Everything I said, I had already said to him. I was not talking behind his back. I did it to provoke a reaction. Unfortunately, so is the new generation. Everyone sees it, and he feels it. At Wimbledon he was not mentally ready, I hope he finds his way. I wish him the best, we know what results he has achieved. He didn’t forget to play tennis. “
