Nurse who killed 10 of his patients and attempted to kill 27 others in Germanywas sentenced by the Aachen court to life imprisonment.
The 44-year-old nurse worked at a hospital in Wierzelen, near Aachen, Germany, in the palliative care department for the elderly and killed patients by administering lethal doses of morphine and midazolam.
The crimes took place between December 2023 and May 2024 and were described by the court as “particularly serious”, which rules out the possibility of early parole after 15 years.
The 44-year-old’s lawyers asked for his discharge, citing a personality disorder.
However, according to the Prosecutor’s Office of Aachen, exhumations of more patients of the condemned have been carried out in order to review their causes of death.
