Meeting with US Secretary of State Mark Rubio had the foreign minister today, George Gerapetritison the sidelines of the NATO summit.
The meeting took place in an excellent climate.
The debate focused on regional developments in the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
The American Foreign Minister underlined Greece’s credibility as a partner and ally within NATO in the Eastern Mediterranean and the importance it attaches to its role as a stability factor in the region. Mr Gerapetritis referred to the US efforts to deprive tension in the wider Middle East area.
Both emphasized their willingness to strengthen strategic bilateral relations.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of interregional cooperation as a means of promoting stability and development.
The US Secretary of State expressed a desire to visit Greece in the near future.
