Former Prime Minister George Papandreou visited today Fire -stricken areas of Achaiasuch as Vundeni – Balla, Romanos, Tsoukalika – Alissos, as well as the Karamandanio Hospital. Accompanied by PASOK’s environment responsible, Panagiotis Dimopoulos, he was informed by the head of the Fire Department of the extinguishing course.
In a statement, George Papandreou recalled that he had warned of climate change for two decades, stressing that the country today is “running behind tragic developments”. He called on the government to abandon the “customer wasting of resources” and to immediately launch a national dialogue for the creation of a “holistic national green viability plan”.
In closing, the former prime minister underlined that the disasters we are experiencing are the result of lack of prevention and durability. He called for immediate investment of available resources in order to ensure the future of the country and citizens.
