“We are optimistic about our prospects for our development, which reflect the guaranteed returns of our portfolio projects,” the Group’s chairman and chief executive noted GEK TERNA, George Peristerisduring today’s teleconference (30.4.2025) analysts for the presentation of the financial results of 2024.
As Mr George Peristeris added, concessions significantly enhance their contribution to the financial figures of the group, the construction sector has consistently healthy returns, while at the same time there is “space” for both the financing of new projects and for the reward of shareholders. The head of the GEK TERNA Group said that the infrastructure industry is still present, with the company remaining value for its shareholders, achieving a balance between new investment and capital refunds.
“We draw value from the existing portfolio of infrastructure projects, while taking advantage of new opportunities. We are optimistic about our course in the coming years, ”he said.

Construction sector
- The existing backlog of € 6.9 billion projects extends to a five -year period, ensuring sustainable profitability, despite challenges such as lack of human resources and intense competitive pressure.
- The Group evaluates the claim of new projects in the Romanian market, without jeopardizing the existing margin of profitability.
- Profit margins remain maintained, despite strong competitive pressures.
PPP-IRC- New International Airport Heraklion
- Waste and water resource management projects boost their contribution to the Group’s sizes, providing revenue through availability payments of € 1.9 billion throughout their lives.
- Elliniko IRC implemented the largest building foundation in Greece.
- The progress of the construction work of the new Heraklion International Airport is 55%.
Road concessions
- The traffic volume on the network of existing and for highway was increased in 2024, recording a further rise in the first quarter of this year. Specifically, in the quarter, on a year -round comparison, traffic was reinforced by 9% on the new and central street, 4.10% on Olympia Road, 5.1% on Attica Road and 3.21% on Egnatia Road.
