UN Humanitarian Coordinator Tom Fletcher welcomed his decision on Sunday (27.07.2025) Israel to open safe land corridors to carry humanitarian aid to its lane Gauze.
A few hours earlier, Israel had announced the launch of “regular cessation” of military operations in some areas of Gaza, from 10:00 to 20:00, to younger. This pause allowed about 100 trucks with food and basic goods to enter the Kerem Salom passage.
It is one of the biggest aid traditions for many months. At the same time, aircraft have thrown food in various areas of Gaza.
“We welcome the humanitarian pauses to Gaza that allow our help to reach those in need. Our teams in the field will do everything they can to reach as many hungry people as possible, “Fletcher wrote on the X platform.
Welcome announcement of humanitarian pauses in Gaza to allow our aid through. In contact with our teams on the ground who will do all we can to reach as many starving people as we can in this window.

Did not stop the attacks – hungry on the streets
Despite the entry of the help, the conflicts did not stop. Doctors from Al-Awda and Al-AQSA hospitals report that 17 people were killed and at least 50 injured on Sunday, waiting for the trucks with humanitarian aid. The Israeli army has not yet commented.

Thousands of Palestinians gathered along the streets, hoping to secure something from valuable help. Many have not eaten for days. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 133 people have lost their lives in recent weeks of hunger or malnutrition – among them 87 children.
One of the most recent tragic cases concerns little Zainab Abu Halib, just five months old, who died of acute malnutrition at Nasser Hospital in Han Younes. Her mother, Israa, says: “Three months in the hospital and they give me back, she dead”
Despite the arrival of help, the needs remain huge. The UN estimates that there are enough food reserves to cover the population of Gaza for about three months – provided that the humanitarian corridors will remain open.
