In the context of regular inspections and interventions for the continuous improvement of the services provided to the passenger public, the Deputy Director of Airports ManagementMr. Alexandros Karydisaccompanied by an echelon of the Airport Compliance Monitoring System of the CAA (CMS), her Technical Maintenance Directorate (DTS) and the Technical Support Directorate (DTY)made visits to the State Airports Monster and Nea Anchialos.
During the visit to the above airports, Mr Her deputy commander High Commissioner met with her Airport Master of Araxos, Mrs. Eleni Giannaki and the Airport Master of Nea Anchialos, Mr. Athanasios Kassiora, as well as with all airport staff.
In the meetings that followed, the progress of the infrastructure upgrade works, according to the approved execution schedule, was reviewed for both airports.
In particular, the following interventions have been completed at Araxos Airport:
- Deforestation of all areas of the Airport
- Remediation of subsidence in the Airport Parking area
- Repair of damage to the Airport’s wastewater management facilities
- Shipping/receiving pharmaceutical material
- Implementation of Disinfection – Mycosis
In progress/implementation phase are at Araxos airport:
- Electrical hardware upgrade works with receipt of new spare parts
- Installation fire protection upgrade process
- Sealing of the Airport buildings
- Fencing works
- BMSÂ (Building Management Systems)
- Conveyor belt infrastructure upgrade
- WC renovation
Regarding the airport of Nea Aghialos, the interventions related to:
- Replacement of the pressurized water supply assembly of the air station
- Restoration of the operation of the baggage conveyor belt of departing passengers
- Restoration of the operation of the central emergency lighting system of the airport
- Repair of external doors of the airside side of the airport
Also in progress at Nea Anchialos airport:
- Partial upgrade and repair of problems in the passenger toilets
- Restoration of the function of part of the sewage system
- Interferences in the medium voltage substation
In addition, a meeting was held with Commanders of 116 AM and 111 AM (Battle Wings of Araxos and N. Anchialos respectively) for matters of cooperation in business processes.
OR Administration of the CAA continues visits and inspections to the country’s regional airports, with the aim of effective supervision, modernization of infrastructure and ensuring high quality services to the passenger public.
