New regime for the withdrawals by the ATM and supplies come into force on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Based on the new regulation of the Ministry of Finance, the Greek banks ‘ATMs are fully abolished, while a National Banks’ EUR 1.50 billing (ceiling) is established for withdrawals made by third -party ATMs.

The arrangement, which was voted on July 25, 2025, was accompanied by the minimum possible adjustment period so that it can be implemented as soon as possible and to pay immediate benefits to citizens. Since next Monday, all Greek citizens will be able to withdraw without any commission from the bank network.

The Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis said:

“It is an intervention with a social sign, which proves that the state responds directly to the needs of citizens. We eliminate unfair and excessive charges, ensuring that every citizen, wherever he lives, will have free access to his money. “

The arrangement provides:

  • Nihilization of supplies for cash withdrawals between all banks participating in the DIAS Interbank System
  • Abolition of charges by third parties when there is direct or indirect shareholder connection to the customer’s bank
  • Zero charges and from third parties to municipal communities where only one ATM operates
  • Ceiling of 1.50 euros for withdrawals of third -party payment providers across the country
  • Free Balance Question for all card holders, regardless of bank or provider ATM
  • Single billing of 0.50 euros to send remittances through digital channels (web, mobile, internet banking) by third parties, in equivalence with banks’ charges

The new policy comes to respond to a chronic demand of citizens for fair and transparent banking charges.
