François Bairou and Emmanuel Macron had a meeting earlier today (13/12/24) for an hour and 45 minutes and it even caused an impression that Bairou left without making any statements while some French media even reported that the meeting was not in good atmosphere
“The President of the Republic appointed Mr. Francois Bayrou and instructed him to form a government,” according to a statement from the Elysee Palace. The new governing group is expected to replace the one led by Michel Barnier, who resigned last week after far-right and left-wing lawmakers voted against his government, plunging France into its second major political crisis in six months.
