The Interior ministry made a request by the Municipality of Nea Smyrna for the grant with a total amount of 370,760 euros to create a new covered sportswear for the Panionio Gymnastics Association of Smyrna (Panionios GSS). The money will be disbursed by PHODIMOS II program.
The Panionian Gymnastics Association of Smyrna is one of the oldest active clubs that have founded Greeks for the purpose of sports, while the GS football department. Panionios Nea Smyrni formed on an organized basis in 1895, is the oldest in active football team in Greece.
It should be noted that today at Panionios facilities are also served by other clubs, such as the “Armenian Athletes Association, Armenian”, the “Icarus Athletic Club”, etc. In the new housed athletic multipurpose, more than 300 athletes of the wider area, and the wider area of different sports, Multipurpose will also be used for the athletes/three athletes.
