Winds weakening in recent days has reinforced the prices wholesale for the current on the energy stock market compared to the particularly low levels observed in the first fortnight of August.
Thus, from the “spring” prices of 48-75 euros we saw primarily in the wholesale during the first half of the month, they now rose close to 90 euros. However, the absence of winds was accompanied by a fall in demand for electricity, thus maintaining a balance, which at present does not allow the price to reach 100 euros, which was incidentally the average price in July.
Thus, during the first 19 days of August the wholesale of the current is average at 72 euros/MWh, which, if compared to previous years, is much lower for the season.
At the same time, the minimum hourly price of each day was detached from the zero or negative level found last week and up to 28 euros. And the maximum value is relatively stable with before.
In the power mix the reins have now received the natural gas, which is the first source this week, with the second RES. Close hydroelectricity contribute close to 5%, while imports are still very low at less than 4%.
The international price of natural gas, which has taken the downstream, also contributes to the formation of a wholesale price below 100 euros. Indicatively, the European TTF reference contract markets close to 30 euros from 35 euros previously.
