Incidents marked the end of the march held yesterday (31.10.2025) in the evening by various collectives to mark one year since the fatal injury of 36-year-old Kyriakos Xymitiris, while he was assembling bomb in an apartment at Vineyards.
As ELAS states in its announcement, after the end of the gathering in memory of the anarchist killed by the bomb in Ampelokipia group of people attacked police forces, who were at the junction of Panepistimiou and Emmanuel Benaki streets, with cartridges and flares.
During the attack, 4 police officers were injured, while 5 people were arrested.

“On Friday, October 31, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of Kyriakos Xymitiris’ fatal injury from a bomb explosion in Ampelokipi, a planned gathering took place in the Propylaia and a march in the center of Athens with the participation of 500 members of collectives.
Shortly before 20:30, after the gathering and march of the people had progressed smoothly on the central roads of Athens, during the departure of the gathered towards the area of Exarchia, a group of people proceeded to attack the police forces at the junction of Panepistio and Em streets by using quadrons and throwing objects and flares. Benaki.
The police officers repelled the attackers to prevent further attacks and to de-escalate the situation, while at the same time they arrested -5- people using operational tactics.
The attack injured -4- police officers, while bats and helmets were confiscated from the scene of the attack.”
