Fires: Two Health Centers in Achaia and Thesprotia are evacuated

The devastating fires in western Greece continue to rage early today, Monday, August 12, causing a huge disaster and forcing thousands of citizens to leave their homes. By order of Civil Protection, through 112 messages, instructions were given to residents from the affected areas, as the flames approach residential zones.

The consequences of the fires also affect the health sector. According to a post on Tuesday night, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis was ordered to evacuate two health centers located in areas surrounded by the fiery fronts. Authorities are on constant alert, and strong firefighters are operating under particularly difficult weather conditions.

In particular, by order of the Northern Greece Inspector of the Fire Department, Antistratigos T. Kosmidis, the Thesprotian Health Center was evacuated. Also in the long -awaited Achaia was evacuated by props and patients in the Lower Achaia health.

In Chios, the island’s hospital is on alert and have already arrived two people with respiratory problems and a firefighter with a pain in the middle of a fall. In addition, the Chios Health Center opened at 20:30 to assist the hospital. The hospital commander with the physician Giala left for Volissos, transporting water, clothes, columns and other health material for supporting the agricultural physician and firefighters.
