The fire broke out at a recycling plant in the area of Moria on the island of Lesvos, with the Fire Brigade being informed and rushing immediately to the spot.
The fire, according to lesvosnews.net, rages in the plant’s surroundings, destroying huge quantities of waste and recyclable materials.
Areas of Moria have been covered with ashes, while the smell of burnt plastic and toxic fumes have made the atmosphere choking.

Shortly after 6am, a message was sent by 112 to residents’ cell phones to stay indoors with closed doors and windows due to dense tobacco.
