From today (16.09.2021) until September 23, 2021, the companies based in its municipalities Of Evia, affected by fires, will be able to declare checks to banks to ensure their non-sealing, if they wish, according to a clarifying announcement of the Hellenic Banking Association.
In particular, in an announcement, EET states:
“Paragraph 1.a) of article 34 of Law 4829/2021 (Government Gazette A ‘166 / 10.9.2021) provides for the suspension of deadlines for expiration, appearance and payment of checks, bills of exchange and bills in order from 7.9.2021 and until 31.12.2021, for the companies that have their headquarters in the Municipalities of Istiaia – Edipsos and Mantoudi – Limni – Agia Anna of the Regional Unit of Evia of the Region of Central Greece. The above Municipalities were declared in a state of emergency under the decisions No. 7076 / 3.8.2021, 13374 / 5.8.2021 and 7248 / 6.8.2021 of the Secretary General of Civil Protection.
As the provision of Law 4829/2021, concerns all companies that have their headquarters in the Municipalities of Istiaia – Edipsos and Mantoudi – Limni – Agia Anna of the Regional Unit of Evia, which can make use of the relevant regulation, and sets a deadline six (6) working days for the submission of the relevant statement, the Hellenic Banking Association clarifies the following:
For those liable to pay securities based in the affected municipalities:
1. For the facilitation of the debt payers of the securities (issuers of checks, receivables of bills of exchange, etc.), whose to make use of the regulation of Law 4829/2021, the credit institutions will immediately take the necessary actions and notifications – within the deadline provided by law – regarding the process of submitting a relevant statement.
2. The declaration process by the interested parties must be completed by Thursday, September 23, 2021. Until that date, the display / payment / stamping of the above securities will not be allowed.
3. After the expiration of the above deadline (23.9.2021) it will not be possible to submit any declaration.
4. The period from 16.9.2021 (ie from the date of commencement of declarations) until 23.9.2021, is not counted, due to suspension, for the appearance / payment / sealing of the above securities.
5. After the expiration of the 23rd and specifically from 24 September 2021, the securities for which the above-mentioned declaration will not have been submitted on time, will appear / be paid / sealed normally.
6. If those liable to pay securities, even though their VAT number is included in the files transferred to the Banks of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), wish to pay the above securities on time (even before September 23, 2021), they must communicate with the paying Bank.
7. Pursuant to case d) and e) of par. 1 of article 34 of Law 4829/2021, securities due from companies that fall within the scope of article 34, par. 1, which, however, appeared for payment and have ” sealed ”or for which a protest was drawn up from 3.8.2021 to 15.9.2021, ie the date of dispatch of the VAT numbers by the AADE to the Banks, are not registered in the files of TIRESIA SA. or are deleted in case they have already been announced, if they are proven to be paid within one hundred and twenty (120) days from their sealing or expiration “.
