The president of Russia Vladimir Putin asked him Donald Trump To retire Ukraine from the eastern district of Donetsk according to the Financial Times.
Specifically, as the Financial Times reports, this is Vladimir Putin’s main term to end the war in Ukraine, but allegedly stressed to Donald Trump that he could freeze the rest of the front if this requirement was satisfied.
This request was made during the Russian president’s meeting with Donald Trump in Alaska.
Trump conveyed the message to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski and European leaders on Saturday, August 16th at a teleconference and urged them to abandon efforts to achieve a ceasefire from Moscow.
This development would give Russia complete control over an area that has been holding much of it for more than ten years and is the point where its forces have recorded the largest advance since last November.
In return for Donetsk’s tradition, Vladimir Putin said he could “freeze” the front in the southern regions of Hersona and Zaporizia, where Moscow has occupied large areas and will not launch new attacks to occupy more territories.
However, according to the FT report, he made it clear that he has not withdrawn his demands for “resolving the deeper causes” of the conflict.
Those that essentially mean ending the Ukrainian state status in its current form and overthrow of the Eastern Enlargement of NATO.
