“The postponement of the Parliament session, which was decided today, following the request of SYRIZA-PS, is first of all unacceptable parliamentaryly, but it is also proof of an acute governmental crisis. Because the downsizing of ELTA was a government choice, with the knowledge and planning of Mr. Mitsotakis, and the CEO of ELTA is simply the scapegoat”said the president of the KO of SYRIZA Socrates Famous, for the postponement of the debate in Parliament, and added:
“The government is implementing a plan to discredit ELTA, to satisfy private interests, discrediting the Greek region. Mr. Mitsotakis’ maneuvers and retreats prove that he is both weak and dangerous. They also prove that our pressure and society’s reaction is taking place. The resignation of the managing director is not an excuse. The debate in Parliament must take place immediately and if it is not scheduled, we will take other initiatives. The issue of ELTA is not an internal party problem of New Democracy. It is a matter that concerns Parliament, democracy and citizens and we must all be informed by the government ministers who are responsible. And at the same time cancel the government’s disastrous plan for the bankruptcy and closure of ELTA, for the benefit of private companies”.
