“It is dangerous to the downhill of Mrs Mitsotakis and Georgiadis for the health of Greek citizens,” SYRIZA-PS President said, Socrates During his visit to the Aegina Health Center, after the tragic incident of the death of a 79 -year -old woman on the island.
He then added: “While the problem was under -staffing, the workers are targeted and Mr Georgiadis announces that he will do SAD. Will he do disciplinary control about what he himself knew? If disciplinary control is required, he must be done for Mr Mitsotakis and Mr Georgiades. They are responsible for the tragic state of health. ” He reminded the mobilizations of the local community for a year, as well as the document sent by 2,000 residents of the island to the political leadership of the Ministry of Health on August 1st for the dangerous under -staffing of the Health Center.
He also pointed out that the SYRIZA-PSP parliamentary group has submitted two parliamentary questions on the issue of the Aegina Health Center last September and this July this year.
The SYRIZA president, during his meeting with his medical, nursing and administrative staff of the Health Center, praised the effort, self -denial and kindness that workers show to meet the needs of the local community, despite under -staffing. And he noted that a brave increase in staff pay and incentives for the island areas is required.
“The Aegina Health Center should not be a black sheep. We must support public health. After this tragic event, instead of the minister whistling indifferently or announcing the SAD, while knowing the deficits, he must go out to say that he has full responsibility and not to take responsibility for the drivers who do what they can and do not get licenses. ” And responsibility proves that there is a very serious problem. Employees and executives do what they can most. They often offer solidarity, self -denial and above their obligations. We are with them. But we must not forget that a strong state does not expect solidarity and kindness. First of all, it takes care of the safety and health of citizens. On the contrary, throughout Greece, a weak NHS is planned by the government and we ring a bell. “
