Investigations on Wednesday’s accident (8.10.2025) are in full swing where an educator aircraft Air Force fell to Dekelia Air Base in Tatoi As a result, the two trainers of the Icarus School were injured.
The two men are hospitalized at 251 Aviation General Hospital. It all happened on Wednesday morning in Tatoi when the two -seater training aircraft took off from the take -off runway shortly before 11am.
The aircraft was flying over the tattoo track, for an unknown reason so far it began to lose height, thus hitting a field in Tatoi.
According to ERT, the aircraft participated in a scheduled maintenance exercise for the Icarus School trainers, according to which training aircraft make circles over the airport.
According to the same report by flying and engineers who saw the aircraft crashing on the ground, they rushed to the scene to help their colleagues. The crew of the aircraft, two trainers at the Icarus School, though seriously injured, were conscious of their hospital. One of the two has more serious injuries.
The Air Force, which has undertaken the accident investigations, is looking for the causes that have caused the fall of the training aircraft. It is reported that two are the possible scenarios:
The first is to make the engine “reservation”, that is, there was a sudden damage that caused immediate height loss
The second is for the two pilots to have an engine loss exercise and during the attempt to re -operate, this was not possible.
Finally, it is noted that according to ERT, the crashed training aircraft was in the air for 6 years.
