EUR 12 million allowances for flooded fields with ‘verta’ materials

Allowances A total of 12 million euros is foreseen by the new ministerial decisionsigned by the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiara and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Athanasios Petralia, for the farmers of Karditsa, Larissa, Magnesia, Trikala and Fthiotida, who saw them and they saw them. The new Ministerial Decision on Compensation concerns exclusively parcels declared in the single 2024 aid application as “flooded with carcasses” and were also declared in the corresponding application of 2023, in order to cross -check data and ensure eligibility.

Compensations range from 70 euros to 5,301 euros per acre, depending on the crop, as follows:

  • 83.2 €/acre for hard wheat
  • 130 €/acre for edible legumes
  • 205 €/acre for cotton
  • 825.8 €/acre for olive groves
  • 70 €/acre for energy crops
  • 563.5 €/acre for industrial tomato
  • 83.2 €/acre for other cereals
  • 900 €/acre for apple trees and processing peaches
  • 725 €/acre for almonds
  • 300 €/acre for walnuts
  • 1.020 €/acre for pistachios
  • 255 €/str. For hazelnuts
  • 960 €/str.
  • 220 €/acre for seed production and livestock plants for feed
  • 195.2 €/acres for maize (wrist or silage)
  • 700 €/acres for vineyards (table use or wine production)
  • 467 €/acre for vegetables
  • 70 €/acre for olive seeds
  • 136 €/acre for aromatic plants
  • 680 €/acre for other tree crops
  • 1.600 €/acre for kernels
  • 220 €/acre for seed production and livestock plants for feed
  • 186 €/acacia for acacia
  • 4.441 €/acre for floricultural crops
  • 126 €/acre for hemp
  • 5.301 €/acre for horticulture under coverage (greenhouses)
  • 5217 €/acre for nurseries of fir, fruit trees and shrubs and aromatic plants
  • 680 €/acre for other crops
  • 759 €/acre for citrus fruits

It should be noted that those who are registered in the Farmers Register as Professional Farmers receive 100% of the aid, while the rest 50%. The aid is paid by OPEKEPE, who will inform the beneficiaries electronically. The prerequisite for the payment is to submit a responsible statement within five (5) business days of the notice.

The new intervention is essentially to support the affected primary sector, at a time when the consequences of the climate crisis are felt with particular intensity in the rural areas.
