A package of 545 million euros ($ 638 million) announced by the European Union to increase investment in renewables to Africa.
Specifically, funds will support electricity, modernization of electricity networks and improving access to renewable energy in Africa, the European Commission said on Saturday (27.9.2025).
Investments include EUR 359.4 million for a high -voltage network on the Colarsion coast to enhance the regional energy distribution, EUR 59.1 million to electrifying rural areas in Cameroon and EUR 45.5 million to increase access to economically affordable renewable energy.
Although the potential of Epirus in the RES is enormous, almost 600 million people still live without access to electricity, according to the statement.
RES investment is expected to create Up to 38 million green jobs by 2030the committee said.
