“With NATO’s second largest army, Turkey is ready to take responsibility for European security”
Turkey’s relations with Greece were mentioned by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking today from the Antalya diplomacy forum.
“Our goal is to preserve peace and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean and we are working to maintain a positive atmosphere with our neighboring Greece,” the Turkish president said. “We are closely monitoring developments in the Balkans and continue our cooperation with the countries of the region,” he said.
Referring to Euro -Atlantic relations, after stressing that “NATO, which is the foundation of the Euro -Atlantic security stone, is one of the building blocks of Turkish foreign policy and Turkey’s security”, he argued that “today that the future of NATO and European security can be found in the European Security of the European Security.”
According to Erdogan, “having NATO’s second largest army, Turkey is ready to take responsibility for European security and future, especially with its defense industry, which has made progress in recent years.” On Turkey’s relations with the European Union, President Erdogan reiterated that “it is invalid for us the claims and criticism that Turkey is moving away from the European Union. Complete integration into the European Union is still the strategic goal of our country. “
On problems in Euro -Turkish relations, he rejected responsibility on the European side by saying: “However, sometimes because of fears, sometimes due to prejudice and sometimes due to factors that have captured the Union from the inside, the European Union does not demonstrate the necessary will to promote our integration process. To put it more properly, some European countries today do not have, unfortunately, the vision, courage and strategic perception of life in the European Union three -quarters of the century ago. “
Finally, it asked the EU to take specific steps, accepting Turkey within its bays, in order to meet the modern challenges, as it implied. “Israel is trying to strengthen the revolution in Syria”
The Turkish president also accused Israel of trying to strengthen the “December 8 revolution” in Syria and stressed that Turkey is in conjunction with the US and Russia in terms of developments in its neighboring country. With the “December 8 revolution”, Erdogan referred to the fall of the Bashar al -Assad regime in Syria and the seizure of power by an alliance of Islamic armed organizations on December 8, 2024, after nearly 14 years of civil war.
The Turkish president argued that “Israel is turning into a problematic country that directly threatens the stability of the region, especially with its attacks on Lebanon and Syria” and that “Israel’s attacks are blocking the efforts to combat the Islamic State”. Specifically for Syria, Tayyip Erdogan stressed that Israel “is trying to strengthen the December 8th (SIC) revolution by subbunrating ethnic and religious differences and instigating the country’s minorities against the government.”
He also said that “in terms of maintaining territorial integrity and stability in Syria, we are in a very close dialogue with all the factors that have influence in the region, especially with Mr Trump and Mr Putin. We will continue decisively to take all the necessary measures in the context of this synonym, the security of our country and our agreements with the Syrian government. ” Tayyip Erdogan also stressed that “no one can underestimate the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people against the occupation as terrorism.”
