The ministry’s announcement states:
“The proper functioning of elevators is an important issue of safety and quality of life for citizens, both in private and public buildings. Especially in an earthquake -prone country, such as Greece.
It is therefore obvious the need to record and certify lifts across the country. The success of the recording and certification process requires the cooperation and active involvement of all citizens.
To this end, the Ministry of Development proceeds with the legislation and creation of an elevator census register.
The relevant statement platform will work for a period of time from early July (immediately after the relevant law was passed) to the November 30, 2025, to the address https://elevator.mindev.gov.grwith the aim of inventorying all lifts regardless of a certification stage.
Subsequently – and on the basis of the data gathered – the timetable for the next steps will be decided to ensure the modernization and upgrading of the lifts, for which this procedure will be deemed to be certified for their safe operation.
The connection to the platform will be with the codes gov/taxis and the process will be completed in a few minutesas every possible provision has been taken to be particularly simple to facilitate citizens.
The process is compulsory And it can be done by any resident of a house, an apartment building – owner or manager – and the operating officer of a public building. Also, the registration process can also be done by responsible conservationists or installers.
What will the inventory include
Inventory will include 7 Mandatory fieldswhich are a common knowledge of those who are liable to submit the statement, which will contribute to the statistical processing of data by the relevant ministry services.
1. Address and location of installation – KAEK Property (will be automatically complemented by interoperability or manual introduction where there is no CAEK).
2. Number of lifts in the building
3. Year of Elevator placement.
4. Number of lift stops.
5. If it has CE markings.
6. If there is an active or older certification and the time of it.
7. Owner-Affiliates/Central Instructor Details (which will arise from the identification process).
The administrative penalties provided for by JMD 28425/2008 for non -registration cease to apply in order to facilitate universal participation.
