The President of France Emmanuel Macron said that after Ukraine should the Russia Agree, without terms and conditions, to a 30 -day ceasefire.
During a press conference in Paris with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Zelenski, French President Emmanuel Macron assured that France would continue to be on the side of Ukraine, but also that Russia is a danger to global stability.
He also said that France would provide additional military aid of 2 billion euros in Ukraine.
“I can announce (how) another two billion euros (will be allocated) for Ukraine’s military support,” Macron told a press conference with Zelenski in Paris.
The new bunch of military aid includes, among other things, anti-tank missiles, soil-to-air missiles and drones.
Referring to tomorrow’s (27/03/2025) international conference on Ukrainian, the French president stressed that consultations would focus on how a ceasefire will be achieved, which will be respected by both Kiev and Moscow.
He also said that the issue of providing military aid to Ukraine would be discussed in order to be able to face any manifestation of Russian aggression in the future.
He also said that it is “too early” to talk about lifting the sanctions imposed on Moscow after the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine, explaining that this would depend on Russia’s compliance with international law.
As for forces that many European countries are considering developing in Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement, Macron assured that “they would not go to the front to fight”.
The French president criticized Russia for its stance on negotiations aimed at achieving a truce, stressing that the Kremlin could not dictate the conditions for a constant peace with Ukraine.
For his part, Ukrainian President Zelenski said that economic sanctions against Russia should remain and reinforce, while at the same time saying that he hoped that the United States would put pressure on Moscow to accept a ceasefire.
The Ukrainian president also said that his country would never agree on the concession of the territories that Russia has forced it, however, noting that at this stage it is not possible to recover from the Ukrainian army and that this could potentially be achieved through the diplomatic road.
