The traffic police are examining the videos and witnesses, regarding the speed of the vehicle and whether the 73-year-old driver braked before hitting the 25-year-old.
At the scene, there is a pedestrian crossing which the young woman tried to cross.
Seconds after the traffic accident, panic prevailed with citizens rushing to provide first aid to the injured woman.
A few minutes after the accident, an EKAV ambulance took the 25-year-old to the Thriasio hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
EL.AS located and arrested the elderly driver of the rural and is charged with vehicular manslaughter and is being investigated if he was under the influence of alcohol.
