It is a matter of a few hours before the announcements of the Ministry of Energy & Environment (MINE) regarding the subsidy at electricity bills December and for businesses, following the corresponding ones of Friday for households (6.12.2024).
Specifically, even tomorrow, Monday (9.12.2024), businesses may know the amount of the subsidy on their electricity bills for the month of December.
As Mr. Skylakakis has announced, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking for a “horizontal” way of subsidizing in order to avoid bureaucratic delays, while care will be taken not to violate the laws on state aid.
The main objective of the subsidy will be to support small and medium-sized enterprises, primarily, with larger ones following.
It is recalled, how subsidies on electricity bills of households announced on Friday (6.12.2024) for December are:
For monthly consumptions up to 500kWh, the subsidy is 15 euros/MWh or 1.5 min/kWh. This category occupies 90% of households in Greece. It is noted that the subsidies concern consumers who are contracted to variable electricity tariffs.
In households that are integrated in the Social Household Tariff (CTO), the subsidy amounts to 35 euros/MWh or 3.5 cents/kWh for total consumption. The total cost of the aid for December amounts to 20.5 million. euros and is covered by the Energy Transition Fund.
