Turkey is in uncharted waters, after today’s (23.03.25) ruling of its criminal court Constantinople to detention of Imamoglou for the category of corruption.
Ekrem Imamoglou, who is detained pending trial on corruption charges, arrived at Marble Near the Silivri area of Constantinople, as Reuters reported online.
The detention of the Mayor of Constantinople and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to trigger the already large anti -government demonstrations, the largest for more than ten years in the country.
Imamoglou himself called on Turkey’s citizens to take massively in demonstrations across the country against the detriment of the pending trial of corruption charges.
In a post on the X platform, Imamoglu said the legal process of his detention was “a complete out -of -court execution” equivalent to “betrayal against Turkey”.
My dear citizens,
Türkiye has awakened to a great betrayal today.
The judicial process carried out is not a judicial transaction. It is a complete execution.
I invite our nation to the right struggle in a sense of responsibility. This struggle for rights is the future of our nation and our sons…

It is noted that Ekrem Imamoglou’s comment on the legal process had preceded his “response” to the Criminal Court of Constantinople in a first reaction to his detention.
“We will uproot, hand in hand, this blow, this black spot in our Republic,” the Mayor of Constantinople, Ekrem Imamoglou, wrote, among others.
