On Monday (29.6.2025) the new employment will be presented to the cabinet at the Council of Ministers bill by Minister Niki Kerameos, according to a statement by the Deputy Minister Work and Social Security Anna Efthimiou in SKAI.
Specifically, Ms Efthimiou noted that the new labor bill would include the modernization of the labor provisions concerning, inter alia, the health and safety of workers and the strengthening of the Labor Inspectorate. It will also include simplifying recruitment procedures.
Referring to the digital work card, he said it was a measure that operates and said, for example, that overtime in April, overtime increased 1105%, retailing 131% and over 100% in focus. Referring to the auxiliary pensions, Ms Efthimiou stressed that the problem is that there are many small funds, which is delaying their administration.
He also stated that the process of digitizing the insurance life is underway. As he said, 51% of 27 million pages have been digitized and estimated that the rest would be digitized by early 2026. He explained that digitization is done through artificial intelligence. Finally, the deputy minister noted that the possibility of a freelance levy for retirees was being considered.
